Spectrum Systems’ CEO Yuri Rabinovitch was among more than
five thousand banking industry professionals in attendance at the
2009 Sibos conference
in Hong Kong. Despite the tropical storm that descended on Hong Kong during
the conference, Mr. Rabinovitch’s attendance was an important and successful
event for Spectrum.
Sibos is the biggest financial services event of its kind, it is organized
by SWIFT annually since 1978 to bring together the financial industry in order
to learn, collaborate, and spawn innovation. Attending Sibos helps Spectrum
focus on real-time needs of the industry, so Spectrum’s products and services
can be geared towards these needs. Many large financial institutions expressed
interest in our expertise, products and services. The banking industry relies
on secure information technology systems to perform day to day tasks, and is
constantly looking for innovations in the area.
Mr. Rabinovitch actively participated in the SWIFT-lead innovation exercise
‘Innotribe’ — a stream focused on innovation in technology and financial services.

The flagship speech on innovation
was given by Guy Kawasaki,
serial entrepreneur, venture capitalist, author of nine books, and columnist for Entrepreneur Magazine.
The innovation exercise was
set up as a series of teams competing for the best new idea for the financial industry.
Mr. Rabinovitch was in the winning team. He was recognized along with other team members,
and congratulated by SWIFT CEO Lazaro Campos at the SIBOS plenary session.
In Guy Kawasaki’s
own words: "These people were complete strangers four days ago.
The idea is called ‘eMe’,
and it’s a digital safe deposit box. Incidentally, this pitch is better than 98%
of the ones I see in Silicon Valley from entrepreneurs who have worked on a product
or service for months". Follow the
